How to Make It:

  1. Prepare your tin – Line a square or rectangular traybake tin (approx. 20×20 cm or similar) with baking paper.
  2. Make the base – In a large saucepan over low heat, melt together the butter, golden syrup, and caster sugar. Stir until smooth and combined.
  3. Add the peanut butter – stirring until melted.
  4. Add the biscuits – Remove from the heat and stir in the crushed digestive biscuits until everything is well combined.
  5. Press & chill – Spoon the mixture into your prepared tin and press it down firmly into an even layer. Pop it into the fridge to chill for an hour.
  6. Top with chocolate – Once the base is set, pour over your melted chocolate and spread evenly. Sprinkle with chopped nuts for an extra hit of texture and flavour.
  7. Chill again – Return to the fridge until the chocolate is set (about 30 mins). Then cut into squares or bars and enjoy!

Tips & Twists:

  • Try using crunchy peanut butter for a bit more texture.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt on top of the chocolate for a sweet-salty hit.
  • Swap the digestives for hobnobs for a different vibe.
  • Want to make it extra fun? Stir in some mini marshmallows or crushed pretzels!
